Supervised Visitation/Assessment Toward Reunification
Children are transported to scheduled visitation, which can occur at the DCF office, CRI office or in the community. The social worker provides therapeutic intervention, modeling, and parenting education, as necessary. Social Workers work intensely with the parents to assist in achieving their goals towards reunification. These services can include assistance with locating housing, budgeting skills.
Reunification Maintenance
Designed to support families who are ready to parent somewhat independently but would still benefit from some support services. The schedule of visits generally includes gradually decreasing contract to encourage independence on the part of the family. Families who have already participated in intensive reunification or family preservation services can decrease to this level of support as the family’s skill level. increases.
Intensive Family Preservation
For adoptive families in crisis or at risk of disruption, this intensive level of programming is utilized to strengthen and stabilize the family system. Typically the social worker meets with the family multiple times per week. Parent training, therapeutic interventions, crisis management, and guidance regarding treatment issues are offered. Additionally, social workers can assist with such case management issues as accessing services, developing a healthy support system, budgeting, and advocating for the family's unique needs. Treatment plans are developed with the family to identify target areas for improvement.
