The number for the Newington Training Center is 860-878-6858 and should be posted in all CRI locations. There is also a phone list available on the intranet available for CRI employees.

What are the prerequisites for jobs with CRI?

For most direct care positions at CRI, there are three requirements: a high school diploma (or the equivalent), a valid driver license and the ability to lift 70-75 lbs.  Experience is always preferred, but is not a requirement.  Any exceptions will be listed in the job description.

How long is my application kept on file?

All applications are kept on file for 12 months.

Do you have tuition reimbursement?

Those CRI employees, who have completed probation, i.e. have successfully worked for the agency for 6 months or more, and work a minimum of 20 hrs per week may be eligible for college tuition reimbursement. Tuition reimbursement will be for the course work that will directly benefit clients served by the agency. The amount of tuition reimbursement made available to CRI staff will depend on the agency budget for this fund, and the number of employees applying for the reimbursement.

Do I need to have all of my certifications (CPR, First Aid, CAN, PMT) to get a job with CRI?

No.  CRI provides all trainings that we require for employment.

What kind of training will I receive from CRI?  How long is the training process?

CRI trains all employees on the policies and procedures of CRI and the licensing agencies we work with, including DCF and DDS.  We also train our employees in CPR, First Aid, PMT and med administration certification.  In addition, our DCF STAR programs receive specialized training on at-risk youth.

Will I get paid for training?

Yes. CRI pays their employees for all of the training that they receive at their assigned hourly rate.

I am already CPR certified.  Do I still need to take CPR training?

Yes.  CRI requires their employees to complete all training regardless of if your training is current or not.

What is a CLA?  SLA?  ICF?  DCF STAR program?

<CLA> stands for community living arrangement

<SLA> stands for supported living arrangement

<ICF> stands for intermediate care facility

<STAR> stands for short term assessment and respite
